Audra Lacey, MS, LMFT (she/her/hers)
A little about me! I LOVE baseball. Go Padres! During the season I go to as many games as I can with my family and there is always a game on my television. I enjoy a variety of TV shows, especially period shows like Downton Abbey and the early seasons of The Crown. I enjoy listening to podcasts while I walk my dog (sometimes as she walks me!). I practice mindfulness each day because it helps me to feel calm throughout my day. I try to teach my brain something new every so often. During the pandemic it was sewing and now Iām teaching myself to crochet! Thanks YouTube!
I was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2002 (California Board of Behavioral Sciences LMFT38530). I have been helping clients challenge themselves and pursue change in private practice since then. Prior to private practice I worked in community agencies that focused on foster care, sexual assault and domestic violence. I have a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
My approach to therapy includes Client Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Family Systems. Though my license is titled Marriage and Family Therapist, my license, training and experience also allow me to work with individuals, which I prefer. In my work with individuals I view client's lives in the context of the systems they belong to...family, social/friendships, workplace, culture, community, etc, as these areas have significant impact on our lives.
I also particularly enjoy working with young adults (18+) who are navigating the challenges of young adulthood and helping them to adapt to the accompanying life changes.
I do not provide services to children, adolescents, couples or families.
